COSMIA STUDIO · WRITING WITHOUT AI
Desktop app to write novels without AI
If you are looking for a desktop app to write novels without AI, Cosmia Studio is built for exactly that: a native application you install on your machine — not a cloud editor — where you write every word, organize your worldbuilding, and stay in full control of your voice.
Unlike many modern tools that ship AI writing assistants, Cosmia does not use language models or generative autocomplete. There are no copilots rewriting your prose. Your manuscript is yours.
Cosmia Studio combines a chapter editor, character and location wiki, the Blueprint visual board, Pomodoro, a name generator from predefined lists (no AI), and coworking to invite readers or editors. It has a free Basic plan and Pro from €7.99/month.
Why choose a writing app without generative AI
Many writing apps have added generative AI to suggest paragraphs, expand scenes, or «fix» your style. That can help some people, but not those who want every line to be theirs — or who simply do not want to send their manuscript to an external model.
Cosmia Studio takes the opposite path: zero generative AI by design. Support tools (names, pomodoro, wiki) do not replace your creativity. It is the option if you want calm, creative privacy, and a zen environment without algorithmic pressure.
What Cosmia Studio includes
Canvas editor to draft chapters with focus. Worldbuilding wiki: characters, locations, factions, fauna, flora, objects, power systems, and free notes. Blueprint: infinite visual board to connect ideas. Version history, Pomodoro, height comparator, background music, and coworking.
All in one desktop app for Windows and macOS. You do not need to stay in a browser or mix your novel with generic notes in another tool.

FAQ
- Does Cosmia Studio use ChatGPT or other AI to write?
- No. Cosmia Studio does not integrate ChatGPT, Claude, or any language model. There is no generative autocomplete or assistants that draft for you.
- Is it better than Scrivener if I do not want AI?
- Scrivener also does not include generative AI by default and remains a solid reference. Cosmia competes in the same desktop fiction niche, with integrated wiki and Blueprint, a free plan, and a more minimal interface. We recommend trying both.
- Can Obsidian work for writing novels without AI?
- Obsidian is excellent for linked notes but is not designed specifically for long manuscripts. Its plugin ecosystem also includes AI extensions you would have to avoid manually. Cosmia is a fiction-dedicated app with no AI by design.
